The Seed

Ink on Wood drawings | 2017-2019

This series of drawings takes a close look at the rhythms, connections, and patterns found in nature. Through close observation of elements of the desert landscape and processed based drawing, I set up rules to create the drawing before I begin and don’t know what the final piece will look like until it is complete. The act of creating the drawing then becomes a meditation and discovery, revealing the universal fractal structures inherent in the natural world. The final compositions diagram the growth and movement of their real-world counterpart.
